Zachary Emond is the current backup goaltender for the Rouyn Noranda Huskies. He will be playing behind Samuel Harvey this season before getting the opportunity to take the net in 2019. This is a curious pick for the sharks that screams size worship more than anything else. The Huskies finished the QMJHL season in 7th place and were upset in the first round so while a good team they are also on a reloading cycle. He was ranked 18th by NHL Central Scouting among North American goaltenders and HockeyProspect.com had him ranked at 87th. Other scouting services do not have him on the boards. Even though this is a late round pick there is nothing here that I am remotely excited about at this point. Hopefully, I will be proven wrong down the road.
