The San Jose Sharks started flat against the Bruins in an early Sunday matinee, but were able to kick it into overdrive in the third period. Ultimately, it would not be enough for team teal in a 4-3 loss in Boston. It was evident early on in the first period that the Sharks did not have their legs.
In the first shift of the game, the Bruins scored on a Brad Marchand seeing-eye shot, with the top line contributing to 3 of 4 goals. Credit the Sharks for their never-say-die mentality. Instead of wilting at the prospect of being down 4-1, the team rattled off 2 quick goals in the third period to breath life back into the team.
Unfortunately, it was a little too late to overcome the deficit against a heavy Bruins squad. Meier and Hertl continued their scoring clips while EK65 was held off the scoresheet. Landi and Mark break this game down and give a little state of the Sharks after the 5 game mark.
