The Kraken sink the Sharks in the first ever face-off between the clubs. A defensive stalemate settled in for the first 2 periods, with James Reimer answering the call for shutdown goaltending. However, the bounces just would not go the Sharks way with former Shark Ryan Donato scoring off a Simek bounce. Logan would net a goal with 2 minuets left to spare but the damage had already been done, the Sharks would fail to make up the 3-1 score.
