San Jose Sharks 2018 Draft Primer

Dominik Bokk – Right Wing

Shoots: Right

Height: 6’1″

Weight: 175 lbs.

Country: Germany

Current Team: Vaxjo Lakers HC

Stats (SuperElit): GP 35, 14 Goals, 27 Assists, 41 Points, 12 Penalty Minutes, +19

Scouts Say: This is a player with an excellent offensive toolset. With above average acceleration, great stick handling, and passing skills. A pass-first player, Bokk is a good shooter a skill that many coaches would like him to utilize more. The knocks on his game include not being physical enough, he will often use his stick rather than his body to try and separate players from the puck and at times has shown little interest on the defensive side of the puck. He can also get visibly angry when a player misses one of his passes or fails to get him the puck. This is a boom or bust pick if there ever was one.

Ian’s Thought’s

This is a player that I honestly don’t know much about. I included him in this article because peoples whose opinions I trust a great deal are very high on this player and it is a name that has come up while recording many a Teal Tinted Glasses podcast. Some of the issues listed above do concern me however and makes me think this is a player the Sharks would likely shy away from. If the Sharks selected this player I’d look forward with anticipation as to learning what all their hype is about.
