Sharks get dragged into a street fight with the Nashville Predators, Jeff Viel and Nick Meloche both drop the mitts. The teams would play a tough checking game with a lot of defensive structure, through the first 2 periods bending but not breaking. Kahkonen would single handily keep the Sharks in the game with 40 saves, allowing only the overtime goal on a broken play. The Preds would press in the third period with 14 shots trying to win the game in regulation but Sharks would hang on but fall in overtime on a Ryan Johansen crash the goal.
